Statice Seeds (Limonium Sinuatum)

This plant is native to the Mediterranean region and the area of ​​Africa that borders the Mediterranean Sea. It is a perennial herbaceous plant that generally grows between 25 centimeters and almost one meter. Its leaves are oblong, lobed and pennate, while its flowers are grouped in spikes arranged horizontally and are trumpet-shaped. The flowers, which are small in size, are hermaphrodite and have free petals, five welded carpels and five styles.

Flower colors: White, red, yellow, pink and blue.

·         🌱 Sowing method: Sowing statice is done in spring, in well-drained soil with good organic matter content. It can be planted directly in the ground or in pots. If planted in pots, the seedlings should be transplanted when they have 3 or 4 leaves.

·         🌿 Cultivation: Statice is an easy plant to grow. It needs a sunny location and well-drained soil. It should be watered regularly, especially during the summer. It can be fertilized every two weeks with a liquid fertilizer.

·         ✂️ Cutting: The statice can be cut when the flowers are fully open. The stems should be cut at a 45 degree angle. The flowers can be dried by hanging them upside down in a dark, well-ventilated place.
