Quinoa is a very popular food, especially among those who eat a vegan or vegetarian diet. Although it is not in the family of more traditional grains, such as wheat, oats or barley, it is considered a grain, and an extremely nutritious one.

Grow quinoa or quinoa at home
Quinoa is an annual plant, with broad leaves and large size, each plant can measure between 2 and 2.5 m, and unlike other grain plants, it has the particularity of flowering before forming the seed, its flowers are red or purple in color and are grouped together forming a kind of spike at the end of the stem.
It prefers a relatively cool climate, although it will not tolerate frost, it cannot grow in areas where temperatures usually stay above 35°C or below -1°C. This is a very important consideration to take into account if you are considering growing quinoa at home.
