Safflower Seeds

Safflower is an annual plant with a bushy growth habit, reaching a height of 0.80 to 1 m. Its stems are robust and the leaves slightly thorny. The flowers, which vary from light yellow to dark orange, attract bees and other beneficial insects, and are also used as cut flowers. Safflower has edible seeds rich in essential fatty acids, and other parts of the plant, such as young shoots, can be eaten in salads. This plant has a long root that can reach up to 2 meters deep, which allows it to obtain water and nutrients from the soil.
