Basic requirements

  1. Sunlight : Tomato is a plant that needs abundant exposure to direct sunlight. Ideally, it requires at least 6 hours of daily sunlight for healthy growth and good fruit production.

  2. Temperature: Tomato is a plant sensitive to extreme temperatures. For optimal development, the ideal daytime temperature is between 21 and 27 degrees Celsius, while the night temperature should not drop below 15 degrees Celsius. Temperatures above 35 degrees Celsius can negatively affect pollination and fruit setting.

  3. Soil: Tomato prefers well-drained and fertile soil. Soil rich in organic matter helps retain moisture and nutrients necessary for plant growth. The optimal soil pH for tomatoes is between 6.0 and 6.8.

  4. Watering : Tomato needs a constant supply of water, especially during its active growth period and during fruit formation. Regular and adequate watering is essential, avoiding excess water that could lead to root rot problems.

  5. Nutrients: Tomatoes require an adequate amount of nutrients for healthy growth. The key macronutrients are nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, which are found in balanced plant fertilizers. In addition, they also need micronutrients such as iron, magnesium and zinc. You can use organic fertilizers or chemical fertilizers to provide the necessary nutrients.

  6. Harvest or collection:

On average, the growing and ripening process of tomatoes usually takes about 60 to 80 days from planting to harvesting the first ripe fruits.

"Black Prince" tomatoes are ready to harvest when they reach their characteristic color and feel firm to the touch. It is recommended to pick them as they ripen to enjoy their best flavor. Simply cut the tomatoes from the stem carefully.
